A neighbour asked if she could bring her grand children to see the railway this afternoon so I set up this little cameo at the scruffy end of the line for them to enjoy.

A couple of eclectic trains were run. Chosen because the locos have sound and the coaches have some figures in them. Kids always like sound and little people...

In the event the little darlings never showed up! Never mind it gave me a reason to run a few trains in the lovely autumn sunshine we enjoyed today.

Very nice indeed.....
Really like the disco/club wagon

Did you ever find out what the chassis for the disco/bar was originally ? Great pictures :)

Great stuff. I like the idea of creating scenarios with figures. I've done it on my indoor 00 layout but not got around to doing it on my garden railway. Thanks for the inspiration.

No, it is still a mystery. The only disadvantage is that the wheels are not insulated so I have isolated a siding that it can sit in when I am running track power.

It is an odd one but on thing I noticed is that the prototype can't be that old as the yellow axel caps are the standard yellow Timpkins roller bearing covers.

I think I've finally tracked down what the chassis is from; it looks very much like that used on several post war Russian 5' gauge locos such as this one:

The Russian loco I think is a P36 and here is a better tender photo:

Yup! I think you could be onto something there Steve. Just the small matter of looking out for an incomplete brass model of a P36 to appear on ebay now ;)
