Yesterday I resumed the development of my layout. I started this bend.

Ahhhh trains on the rails!!!

Some might remember my two rabbits who found great pleasure in ruining the plants at my old layout... Well, last November Barney died of age and in March this year we had to put Pebbles asleep, also due to age. She had become 11 years old.

So that gives the opportunity for even more track in the garden!!!
 
typical dutch....as soon the temps go over 18c+ they go out in the garden......

I was wondering about the rabbits, remembering your efforts to fence them out of the old tramway.
They seem to have lived to a ripe old age.

Sad to hear about the bunnies, so far as I know they do not have a particularly long life span thus I believe that they both did well enjoying a good happy time in your gardens.
 
Todays progress. The difference in height was originally intended to be solved by a nifty plan with complex engineering. The two years of neglect have proven the plan to be wrong. There were hollow spaces underneat which where swiftly occupied by snails, ants and mice. So i came up with a new plan with bricks and concrete. I prepared one corner today. All is level now.

Concrete will be used on top of these bricks.

In Dutch it is called a 'Gietrand' of 'Borderrand', you can buy them for example at Hornbach (clickable). 10 meters, 15 cm wide. I've cut them in half, having 20 meters of 7,5 cm width. I find them very useful when using concrete. Leveling the borders and then it's just filling up with concrete and making sure the surface is level with the borders. Afterwards I remove them.

Looks much like what we call UPVC Gravel Board in UK, Wicks sell it.
