I was wondering about the rabbits, remembering your efforts to fence them out of the old tramway. Some might remember my two rabbits who found great pleasure in ruining the plants at my old layout... Well, last November Barney died of age and in March this year we had to put Pebbles asleep, also due to age. She had become 11 years old.
So that gives the opportunity for even more track in the garden!!!
In Dutch it is called a 'Gietrand' of 'Borderrand', you can buy them for example at Hornbach (clickable). 10 meters, 15 cm wide. I've cut them in half, having 20 meters of 7,5 cm width. I find them very useful when using concrete. Leveling the borders and then it's just filling up with concrete and making sure the surface is level with the borders. Afterwards I remove them.Where did you buy that plastic board?
Looks much like what we call UPVC Gravel Board in UK, Wicks sell it.In Dutch it is called a 'Gietrand' of 'Borderrand', you can buy them for example at Hornbach (clickable). 10 meters, 15 cm wide. I'd always be tempted by a curved point in that situation - it'll look so much better and the trains will run through smoothlyHaving a challenge here. Did some mis-calculation (by head…) and now this curve is protesting at me.
The incoming curve is a very moderate R1 (one could say R2 ish), then this R3 point and then two straight, parallel tracks.
The further I move the point to the right, the better the fit. But I loose length on the two straights this way.
Pictured is the point at its ideal position. The top track is R1 and the bottom flextrack close to R3.
But I’d like to avoid R1 on the layout. This is not to my liking.
Maybe I can solve this with a bent point?
I’m open to suggestions.
