I managed to get a quick running session in this evening before it was too dark. I got home sharp and my granddaughter was here wanting to see trains run.

My MPD area has suffered this winter. I knew the shed needed replacing but I think the whole area needs anew base. Its not very large so not a major job.

I have been contemplating a change of direction in the style of this railway for some time now.
I have decided to give the background, buildings, etc more of a German feel. Commencing with the names.
These names are all corruptions of places local to me in Kent but with a German twist. Using Google maps most of these have been identified as actual places in Germany (and Austria and Switzerland).
So, welcome to the Ochsenwaldbahn.

Yes, that's the 'large' coal box.

Local places to me are - with German adaptation (I would not call them equivalents)

Wittersham - Wittersheim, near Saarbrucken, almost in France
Rye - Roggen, but I added 'burg' because - Roggenburg - does exist near Ulm
Woodchurch - Holzkirchen, near Munich
Ebony - Ebenholz, well, I found a street called Ebenholzweg
Stone - Stein, near Nuremburg
Appledore - I found upper and lower -- Oberapfeldorf and Unterapfeldorf. just west of Munich

That should keep me going for ages.

I did the same thing when creating a timetable for use when I run my European stuff, it works well as a means of creating a sense of place ???
