The FGLR

Cyclone

Registered
The FGLR opened in June this year (and briefly closed due to the logging activities of 4 resident cats)
It hasn't really got a name but since it runs through the fairy gardens my daughters built it has adopted the name.
Its loosely based on the L&B railway (except it 2' 9 3/4"...think thats right for 45mm in 16mm scale)
It runs for about 15m with more track waiting to be laid.
The company owns one locomotive, a battery powered "playmobil RC" engine, but the Bank Manager (SWMBO) has agreed to release the money to purchase a second steam powered locomotive.
A few pics taken with my phone.

Nice Raillway. Bad luck with the cat incident. I like your engineering
with the plant pot and the cutting.

'Tis looking good, Ed! Keep going!:thumbup:

Really struggling to take decent photos. If I use flash it reflects off everything and if I dont it blurs. Whilst im fiddling with camera settings, the kettle on wheels is blowing its safety. More practice needed.

Hi Ed
I bet the children love it!

Put the camera on something solid and set it on self timer. This should get rid of the blur.
You cn either have the train appear at the right time for the self timer or have it stationary for the photo.

If you want to make sure that the camera is level and you cannot see the screen, use a cheap, short spirit level strapped to the base of the camera with elastic bands!

Had about a 3 hr session in the garden. Managed to take some photos with my phone before my fingers froze. (actually took loads but cant be .... to resize them all yet)
Finally put the name plates on my loco.

nice!!:thumbup:i think the lacqering will slow down the weathering, ..

Love your railway.

A coat of varnish/lacquer is good - but it's difficult to find one which is really matt.

Very atmospheric - love the pictures of the steamer coming towards the camera through the vegetation.
