Sugar Pine Railroad "Betsy"....looking for information on the loco

Regarding: the YMM SUGAR PINE RAILROAD "BETSY" 0-4-0 F 1:20.3 Brass Logging Locomotive

I ran across this Loco on Ebay and wondered if anyone has more information on the product:
(i.e. where it was manufactured, specifications of any type, overall quality, performance, etc.

Any information would be appreciated, and my best hope would be hearing from someone that actually owns, or owned the product.

Dunno, but I have rode the Sugar Pine, and those Shay's whistles, when up the mountain, send shivers down your spine!!! Delicious! :clap::clap::clap::clap::happy::happy::happy::happy:
 
There was an OK US dealer who used to sell these locos alongside Accucraft (US) stuff, so I've always assumed it to be alright :nod::nod:
 
I'm betting that it's a product of either WuHu or Bowande, maybe both.

Wacky but nice, like the Falk.

Also, I found a post from another forum that confirmed the locomotives were built for MLC in china (no mention of the builders name).

I'll make another post if I learn anything else.

'Made in China' is not much of a guide - all of the Accucraft stuff is made there including the brass stuff.

Around this side of the pond we call them MoLoCo i.e. Missouri Locomotive Co. They have offered several small locos in brass, and I have not heard anything bad about them (but then I have no direct experience.)

Betsy was one of the early ones. There's also a Falk and a Gyosy. And this cute little devil, the only 3-truck, 2-cylinder shay ever made:

I picked this message to respond to, after going thru the registration process to sign up for this site. I am Allen Pollock, one of two owners of Missouri Locomotive Co. here in the USA. Someone has posted out web page URL, but i will repeat it here: www.moloco.biz
None of our products were produced by Wuhu or Bowande. They were produced in China by a company that is no longer in business. The reason they went out of business wasn't because of the locomotive, but because the Chinese government ended the subsidy payments to the start up companies. This same company produced models for Yoder Models (O scale) and in fact delivered O scale models to the UK. This company produced our Falk, Bear and Betsy. We still have the Bear and Betsy in stock, but we have sold out of the Falk. Occasionally we do get a Falk in trade and make it available for sale. Our newest locomotive, the three truck, two cylinder shay was produced by Accucraft for us. Our sister company, Fun & Games, is an Accucraft Dealer. Fun & Games also produces many large scale figures, mostly in the 1/24 to 1.20.3 range.
