In this thread I will introduce the components of the Massoth DCC system.

As per the CV thread, it WILL BE HEAVILY MODERATED to keep it as clear and simple as practical, it may also get locked from time to time. Please feel free to add you 2 pennies worth but don't be disappointed when it is plagiarised or just deleted.

8135001 DiMAX 1200Z Central Station

This was the first of the Central Stations in the DiMAX range from Massoth and is no longer produced. It is a single unit containing a powerful transformer and electronics capable of delivering up to 12A to the track.

Early versions were limited to supplying a track voltage of 23v. A hardware change in 2007 combined with firmware v2.3 allowed the track voltage to be selected.

Input power could be direct from mains AC (230v) or from an external 16 to 24v DC or 12-18v AC source.

The 1200Z is currently supported withFirmware updates. The current firmware version is v2.65 and supports the following language pairs: German/English, Spanish/English, French/English, Dutch/English, Italian/English, Danish/English & Czech/English.

History
The 1200Z started life back in 2002 (v1) and originally it was only possible to use the LGB Loco and Universal handsets (55015 & 55016).
In 2005, upon the arrival of the Navigator, firmware v2.0 reconfigured the bus ports from the LGB MTS bus protocol to the DiMAX protocol. MTS components could still be used but they now need to be connected via the 8138501 Transducer,

In 2007, there was a change to the hardware to allow the track voltage to be selected (14 to 22v) using the menus, firmware 2.30. Control by PC also supported from this version.

In 2010, USB interface added.

Firmware 2.65 allows triggering of Functions 17+.

This product was discontinued in 2013 due to EU legislation regarding energy efficiency and has been superseded by the Massoth 1200T Switch Mode Power Supply and 1210Z Central Station pair.
