But on a good note I will be moving to my buddy's property and with the help of a very keen 5 year old will begin again, but this time with over 70 Acres to play in.......................Watch this space as they say..............I'm down but certainly not out..................

Most of the track removed today has been down for about 10 years and I can say that the LGB track is all fit to be used again!! The USA and Aristocraft is also in excellent shape except all the aristo joiners just disintegrated on removal and the ties have cracked and snapped off some of the chairs, even though I was being careful to avoid damage. But all is not lost as a memeber of my local club sold me a couple of box's of tie strips so i will be able to salvage every piece removed today. The LGB switches are all in good working order just the usual tie problems at the leading point. next week will see the removal of as many plants as I can that I wish to keep to be taken to the afformentioned 70 acres for safe keeping. and then the main line will be lifted forever................ I wonder what the new owners will think of the garden? I will leave a couple of pieces of stock just parked on a piece of track to suggest what once was...................................................

A shame, but sounds as if there are chances for things to be bigger and better.

On a lighter note, take that favorite Acer of mine or mail it to me!!!!:D

So sorry to see this Minimans..... didn't know it was on the cards...... :crying:

paul, its a old saying but it rings true, its darkest before a new dawn...and it dose get better, easer matey.. 70 acers, is that a bad back per acker?:rolf:

Very sad to see Paul. I hope this is the nadir and from here on in everything is onwards and upwards. All the best for your next venture.

Bummer Paul, just box and store everything until you get resettled again, I've pulled up 4 layouts and know how hard it can be, hope for the best in the future.

Thanks Guy's for the PM's and encouragment! this isn't the first railway I've had to dismantle just the first marriage. Now I know I have somewhere to go and can start to build again (Life and Railway!!) I do feel so much better, so as I said watch this space.................Paul.........

Will the dogs be "helping" you build you new empire:rolf:

Yes, I do get to keep the dogs and the kids!! but as for "helping to build" I don't think so!!.....................Dogs or boys.......................

Sorry to see that you have to lift this wonderful looking line Paul:crying: are you taking any of the plants with you like those very nice Acers of yours:thinking:

The best of luck, Paul - enjoy the space - think of all those generous curves you can put in!

Yes I have arranged with a local nursery the loan of some large and small pots for the upheaval and move (Sorry Garrett the Acer comes with me!!) so I will be taking most of the trees and smaller plants Those that have grown a bit large will be left in place.

I lost my garden, my home, all my savings, the dog and the kids in my big D.... Now I have a wonderful GF, a bigger garden, and the girls are getting mature enough that they are starting to see through many of their mom's little games (still no money, but...).

OTOH My ex-wife still has to put up with herself every day.... :rolf: Let THAT thought bring you much peace.

When I first saw the start if this thread I was lost for words. Obviously you are sensibly moving on but all aspects of the situation must have caused you some stress. I always thought your trees were wonderful and I'm glad to see you are salvaging what you can. All I can do is wish you all the best for the future and look forward to the fruits of your future labours.

Mick

Sad to see a nice RR being torn up but Im sure your next RR will be better. Cant wait to see the build log for the new RR. Everything happens for a reason. Good luck. Also call Aristo about the ties. I beleive they have a lifetime warrenty on them. Does not hurt to try.
