Strange goings on with a MTS chip fitted to an LGB 2091

Hi All

I've recently purchased a LGB 20520 2091 loco which allegedly has a factory fitted Decoder.

I tried it on both my MZSpro DCC system in the garden and also via a SPROG attached to my PC to read the decoder its confirms its three and lights appear at one end but don't change directionally and there is no drive.

It works fine on analogue just some strange gremlin on DCC not allowing drive.

Any suggestions as to what might be going on?

Can you read CV29?

The speed - step settings in the CS and decoder need to match.

Strangely, all the CVs were set correctly.

It’s been swapped with another decoder now to get the loco running but still really puzzling
