Does anyone have a steeple cab loco they could measure and photograph for me please, if someone has a drawing for a steeple cab loco all the better.

I plan to scratch build one of these little electric locos in 1:22.5 scale, absolutely any information would be appreciated, thanks.

There are an awful lot of locos that fall into the "Steeple Cab" configuration David.. steeple cab locomotive - Google Search Could you narrow it down a bit ? There is a rather nice Blackpool Trams one in the listing. Knowing your interest in trams might this be a candidate ? Max

Max,

Thanks, yep should have been a lot more specific, the one I was thinking of is the LGB one for no reason other than I like it.

As I would be changing out the power truck for battery operation I don't really want to pay the price that LGB models seem to attract for something I'll be tweaking. If someone had a body shell going spare I would be interested in hearing what they could be looking for £ wise.

Those trams look very nice, small but nice, unfortunately google has let me down when I searched for M.st.E tram, Austrian tram only brought up the trams of Vienna, what system is the M.st.E just to help me search for the trams, thanks.

Phil,

I saw that, but £94 plus for a body shell, which is all I would want, is a little steep.

I would share the cost if anyone wanted the power bogie from it.

when I searched for M.st.E tram
Try Lokalbahn Mixnitz–Sankt Erhard

I have two of the LGB ones:- E1 in blue/cream and E2 in all-blue. Both are digital (even the very old one). They don't get much use these days (the overhead wiring is on our exhibition layout) but I'm not planning to split either for parts though!

Cheers

Hi David, just follow the link and you get some pictures_
Lokalbahn Mixnitz-Sankt Erhard

By the way I have a scepcial one, only the body, without doors our inner things, just the body. The green one will be converted into a Düsseldorf work tram 100. I'm looking for 40 Euros for the silver one + postage.

While building the "body only" of a model from parts might sound attractive, it can quickly turn into a money pit. For this model, Modell-land.de (E-Teile für die kleine E-Lok 20301) offers a window set (9.95 EUR), doors (1.99 to 3.99 EUR each depending on colour), handrail set (9.95 EUR) and Bow Collector (29.95 EUR !!!!!!) but not the roof!

Somehow, it all makes buying a second hand analogue model (and selling on the running gear) sound quite economical!

All the best

I made my track powered one using an Aristo bogie and the body is card with some thin ply for the sides.

The HLGW model is a bit basic, but they do a nice looking model of the very small Wittenberg Schafer locomotive :nod:

I'm sorry but I don't know the difference between a Steeple Cab and a Center cab.
The steeple aspires to be something different

This is a model of a battery-powered switcher "ASF EL-16" built in Germany. It can be found in Germany and Poland today.
From thingiverse you maybe able to scale from the stl files.
Currently printing this one.

Or this more the shape you want?
