I have been monkeying about with Static Grass for a while now having purchased this little baby from Ebay at Sub £30.
Just as good as the £100 plus one that I borrowed for a Month or 3 from a good friend. I used both to create some effects indoors, a particular one I like being to Spot PVA onto a Tin Biscuit Tin Lid then using differing colours of Static Grass to create small Weed Patches. When dry these are then knifed of the Lid and put in place on the Layout. The next two pics show a couple of the efforts.
I then discovered at Gaugemaster of all places that they priduce a Static Grass puffer at sub £5.00. It appeared too good to be true,manyway I bought one to find that it is pretty well as good as any of the Electrical ones. The large area below being its first task.
The other thing that I like about this baby us that being small you have more control on application thus not wasting so much of the Static Grass. But I guess that the Stand Up is not quite so good as the Electric ones. It is seen in the next picture.
Moving on to today I decided to have a go on my Paving Slab Track bed (above) to see how well Static Grass will survive in the Garden. So I tooled up, glued up, puffed up and this was the result. Oh I used Water Proof PVA.

I think it looks quite OK with the natural plants. Of course time will tell if the Grass I bought will be UV Stable, this is why I have just done a small area. Andy Rush used to use quite a few indoor techniques in the Garden for his Scenics. Some successful, others not so. Be interesting how my experiment of carrying on his tradition will survive.
