Hi all.
Really wanted an LGB centre cab, (LGB 23510). Saw a second hand one and rang up the shop as to its condition. I was told that it was cosmetically fine but had a squeak running one way. I had a reserved sticker put on it until it could be tested, which could mean a wait. Can anyone advise as to what it might be before I part with some hard-earned cash?

An irritating squeak can be caused by dry pickup wipers on the back of the wheels. A modest application of the LGB Smoke Fluid can fix the problem.

Many thanks. Hopefully it might be something minor, as these types of diesels seem bin on the ground.

As Jon said, if it's only squeaking in one direction it sounds as if something is rubbing

Thanks Paul. It sounds minor. I'll go for it while it's available. Will let you know. T

Steam outline is nice, but there's something about a nice big lump of a diesel. Utilitarian looks I think. I remember watching trains at Lowestoft Central in the 60s and seeing the first of the green diesels operating, Class 31s, 40s etc and loved them. so a big one, albeit red and German fits the bill nicely.
