The Beyer-Garrett is a scratchbuilt engine using bachmann running units. It is radio controlled and battery powered.
It arrived as a secondhand addition to the 'Pakefield Joint Railway' fleet from James Dowling (Midwalesstokie) and was given a spruce up and repaint into our fleet colours before entering service.

Now numbered 14 in the fleet she has been a regular performer, although does need wide radius curves, and was not happy on the tight bends on the Sprowston and Norwich so the photos were of the only runs made.
Here are a couple of photos of her in use last summer on home tracks.
Hope that answers your query Tony

Here's some latest photos and maybe the last for a few weeks! Im moving to Bristol this weekend as I have a new job in Bath, unfortuantly I will be moving into a new apartment so no garden! :( Some spare track and controller and a few locos will be coming along with though! (Anyone in the area with a garden railway who'd let me visit to run trains? :) )

Wonderful photos, as usual. All the best for the move and I shall miss your photos of steam trains in sunny Norfolk.

good luck
no doubt you'll be travelling eastwards sometimes to play :)

Yes good luck George. I take it the railway at home will live for a while longer yet, fingers crossed, I hope so.

Thanks all, yes the railway will be staying here for a while longer yet and will be used on visits back (as well as the odd running day). Dad has also mentioned he might get a few trains out now and then...!

You could always lease the line out, with a suitable maintainance contract, so it is always ready for use when you pop back.
Perhaps Robert would like to be custodian? Then we can still have the Bank Holiday running days and send you photos of what you missed!

Good luck George. I live in South Wales, about 1hr by train from Bristol and you're welcome to come over here to run trains anytime. There's also the Severn Mendip 16mm group based primarily in Bristol and I'm sure they would welcome you too. Their details are in the 16mm Association bulletin.
