In for a Penny in for a Pound there's no going back now or returning the Loco come to that
I removed all the dam pins from the block and drilled out two of the holes bigger so I could get the correct size wire down the holes into the motor block so there is a wire soldered to each pick up rail on the outsides of the block, no skates at the moment as the springs are really next to useless on them so left out till I get some springs. The pickup bars have seen better days really i,m certainty not the first one to open this box up.
The pickup rail should touch all three carbon brush holders which were cleaned.

so out of the top of the box is 4 wires now as both motor connections are now soldered direct to the motor terminals as well. (Red is Brown)

Ran for around half an hour and it seems to behave in that it does not self reverse itself anymore, I did also reset the decoder and then check and change the relevant settings again in case any were wrong as well. If run at a reasonable speed it runs OK, if you try and crawl with it it loses power as the lights go out if you give it a little push or wiggle it it will pick up power the lights come on and off it will go

Still need to sort out whats on the end of this plug and connect to the decoder would be nice just to replace the socket on the end of the flat wire with connectors that just push over the pins on the decoder but that's probably a tall order.

What have I learnt, This Spreewald has had a had life not really as promised, Runs OK at a reasonable speed, hopeless at shunting speed, looks like it will turn into a money pit in the end to get it to be a usable Loco so far it stall's easier than a Stainz..
