Securing buildings

We have been having strong winds here lately. What is a way to stop the buildings from being blown awan?

I screw mine to a wooden base, then fix a galvanised strip to the underside of the wooden base which is then buried in the surrounding ground / soil / mortar.

Do you mean a galvanised rod?

Mine sit on paving slabs, but I have drilled holes where the internal corners of the building sit and jammed in sections of scrap rail, I did try wooden dowels at first, but they were prone to snapping. So the buildings are just placed over the rail sections onto the slab.

I have used ally L angle screwed to the base with holes drilled through them and the building with bent L’s of brass which tarnish to be near invisible.

I have either VERY heavy building (concrete) of glue them to slate.

I use freezer bags filled with sand to weigh my buildings down. Allows flexible positioning.
