Another marvelously inventive piece of modelling![]()
Pieces parts, tank legs are made from PVC lumber cut down, tank is a 6" piece of PVC pipe scribed from top to bottom to simulate boards, tank bands are Copper wire, spout is CVPC heated and stretched for taper effect, support shafts between bottom supports is coat hanger with 2/25 nuts glued to ends, detail parts are plastruct ladder, and evergreen styrene strips, chain is from a necklace left outside to rust, roof is top off a bird feeder that's painted to look like cedar shakes, and weather vane is from Hobby Lobby and holds everything together, fun build, Bill![]()
Not the old waterworks again? Now I am sobbing quite loudly
well done, but i'm smitten by the spout!
i would like to know a little bit more about heating, stretching and tapering the spout.
Gappy...again, I'll join you, and again, provide the ale...
(This teary eyed thing has got to stop...I'm using up my best ale with this nonsense !!)
Fr.Fred
thank you. i will try that.CVPC is heat resistant not water pipe and I secured a 1' piece to the bench top and hung it over the side on the other bottom end I clamped a set of fairly heavy vice grip pliers. Heated the tubing with a heat gun until the tubing became soft and started to stretch and when it looked like what I was looking for I put cold water on it to stop the process. Had a nice taper on the tube and cut out the part I wanted,Bill
