Hello. Thought I would share my latest project. Log cars inspired by the bachmann skeleton cars. I recently bought a 3d printer. This thing is awesome. Found a website www.thingiverse.com and you can print stuff for free on there . My first step I found a bogie to print. Thanks to pmo for putting it on there for us to use. Once I printed the bogies I began building the frame of the car . Very simple just 3 pieces of cedar cut . Once I had the chassis done I cut plastcard strips to make the metal straps and cut tiny squares for the bolt heads. I also had some brake wheels from my parts bin. Once painted up I think they look pretty good. It runs great on the track. Mixed in with my bachmann skeleton cars it's hard to tell the difference. I like the mix of up to date tech (3d printing) and older tech (wood, plasticard and white metal detailing) goes very well together. The methods that you have so amply shown should be withinn the realms of most modelers even without a 3d printer, after all you can find odd bogies around at Train Shows etc.
