That looks fantastic Casey - and the Rob Bennett figures are perfect. I still have to paint mine....

Also it was great to meet you and the other Charnwood stalwarts on Saturday:)

And go on Shawn - you know you want one......;)
Cheers
Chris

Nice looking engine, the boiler wood sheathing adds a lot to it. Looks like you've got the Chuffer pipe installed ??
must sound great!
I like watching the RWM De Wintons "dance" down the tracks, from the vertical oscillating cylinder action. ;)
I'll bet the direct coupled De Winton will run circles around the gear driven Chaloner!

Being 45mm the loco doesn't "dance" on the rails, it is very stable.

The Chuffer is extremely effective at low speed and sounds great.

I haven't compared it yet to the Chaloner. I must do so.

The wood cladding adds that final effect making it look an handsome locomotive.

Hi Casey
i just love the photos - it is clearly the case that the guy with the new 'sports' De Winton, fitted with the big-bore chuffer, gets the girl. The guy on the Chaloner looks rather lonely :D

The pictures in the station really show up the difference in scales. Nice Loco & train!

I will have to do some locomotive trials to find out which is the better locomotive. I will get Scott to video it. But from an unscientific perspective, I would have thought thar Chaloner would out perform the RWM in the haulage stakes. I could be proved wrong.

Casey, from memory, the Chaloner is geared 8:1 with two double acting cylinders. It should produce a lot more torque, so it will depend on the adhesive weight on each driving wheel. I suspect that Chaloner will pull more, but De Winton will sound like it is pulling a lot more :)

I look forward to the results!

Lovely potos as normal. Where does the exhaust pipe on the RWM loco go. I didn't get a Chaloner because the exhaust pipe was not in the chimney.

Andy, the exhaust pipe goes into the Summerlands Chuffer which is located on the right side of the locomotive. See the picture below.
