Round Robin boxcar

It's grand to be able to see it on all these different rails, this is what I think we all wanted to see when the idea was conceived by a consensus of opinion.................Paul.........

Rumour has it that it might even visit the 16mm show at Stoneleigh

and indeed it did. on its travels to the next lucky recipient, it spent some time deposited behind the Pendlebury stand.

and photographic evidence that it was there.

and with Sir Haydn which also visited the show from the Talyllyn.

The boxcar saw service on the WGLR today, and a very useful wagon it proved to be. It meant an early start on a perfect Spring morning on the Welsh border as the boxcar was used on the morning newspaper/mail train.

With the newspapers, parcels etc. having arrived via the Cambrian Railway, the Corpet backed it's two vans into platform 2 at Gooey ready for loading.

With everything on board, the vans were shunted onto platform 1 where they were coupled up to a single coach (not many passengers at this early hour).

The train pulls away from Gooey.

Stopping the traffic in Church Street and on towards the Wetton valley with all the news, good and bad.

Later in the day the boxcar was shunted into the goods yard alongside the cattle market for more mundane duties. The market is used to seeing cattle and sheep being unloaded, but these stowaways caused a few heads to be scratched :thinking:.

The boxcar crossed yet another County boundary today into Staffordshire for Elliott's beautiful Kinver Light Railway.

First it joined a Mallet hauled passenger service.

Then it saw service in a short goods train with Cambrai in charge.

Next stop will take the boxcar worryingly close to Herefordshire :nail::nail:.

Today the boxcar reached Ruritania.

It was hauled across the border by a Mallet (of course):

We think there is a strong possibility it's been to the WGLR, whatever that is.

The boxcar/boxvan found many 4-wheeled friends in our small, yet perfectly formed nation and even a locomotive of passing acquaintance!

Round Robin boxcar was transferred from Ruritania to Shropshire where it was seen employed on testing duties.

Bump - Hello!

Is it coming to Staffordshire???

Not sure where it is at the moment?

Colin has asked me if I want it after him so it's edging further north. Still quite a few lines on here that it's not visited yet :)

It's not visited WSL, CDB or PBL down here in the South East Shepway corner yet. Do you think it'll fit on the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch ? :rolf:
