Round Robin boxcar

I have posted the boxcar to Cyril.
On the main road a large tree has blown down blocking it.
There are 2 police ossifers in an "Emergency Response Vehicle" sitting all warm and cosy surveying the traffic chaos when all it needs is either a sign at each end to denote an easy 'box' diversion or them directing traffic.
Interest, commitment? Not a cat in hell's chance!
It seems to me that nowadays they only function if they have an electronic gadget to save them thinking - or moving.

I hope the tree didn't fall on our boxcar!!!!

Broadsword calling Danny Boy, Broadsword calling Danny Boy, the Eagle has landed in Deeside, it will be receiving attention tomorrow, stand by for further news

Danny Boy to Broadsword
Blimey! Just when you thought the postal service had gone belly-up.
I only posted it late yesterday afternoon!

Go tell Bence (the stationmaster) I have wrecked the Scotch Express.

In Red For Danger?
A really good read.
I lent all my trainee signalman my copy,
it really helped them to understand why they were doing what I had taught them.

Put those signals to danger immediately!

Well spotted those of you, indeed, LTC Rolt's Red for Danger. A pal of mine and I used to be able to quote huge chunks of that book to each other ".........we have visited the place before and we shall visit it yet again. It is as thought the gods etc.........". What on earth did Tysely and Meakin say that awful morning when they went home to their wives and kids? "Oh incidentally darling, I have been responsible for the deaths of over 200 people, I have to go to see the boss this afternoon"?

I don't think anyone reads this thread or whatever it is any more but to put the record straight the boxcar is somewhere between Aberdeen and Glasgow. I hope it continues safely on its journey round the world

i think i prove you wrong sir:thumbup:

ditto also likewise (12862 viewings to this thread and counting)(not all by me I might add)

I think what's happening Cyril, is that those that have had the box-car, have posted and have little to add, but are (I hope) still watching avidly to see its continued adventures. having said that it has a long way to go yet, so perhaps some more members should be putting their names on the list, no matter where they are from.

I have just been given that book.
Oops pic won't load. I mean Historic rail Disasters. Read it many years ago but mislaid it.
