RJR Garden Railway

That green beastie looks interesting, presumably scratchbuilt, what is it built on?

Jon.

I'd seen pictures of it coming along :clap::clap: the question is, I suppose, is it effective? Or has the track been sufficiently rubbish free that you haven't been able to fully test it?

Nice John!

Somewhere on the forum there is a thread about Playmo being suitable for a garden railway?

Your railway proves it can be done very convincingly....

I think the twin fan blowers in the loco are undersize, they blow dust but not major obstructions. They are probably in the category of gimick. The forward bogey mounted brush however is very effective and I think I got the bristle length just right. I get a lot of twigs and bits from the ivy along one wall. Its surprising how easily a twig across the line can cause a derail. The brush just bats them out of the way

Yes, small twigs can be a pain in the posterior. That sounds like a mart piece of work :clap::clap:

No I stripped it for parts on Friday night. The body is pretty much in functional but it needs two playmobil motor blocks

I can get you the part number for them tomorrow, if you like..
Available, brand-new, £38.15 and there are apparently 60+ in stock..
It would appear the part-number changed, and they disappeared into the computer inventory system..
PhilP.

yes that would be handy thank you

Is that G scale outdoor railway track powered or on board battery powered? I used to own a Holden Gemini (sorry an Opel Kadet in Europe) that was very nearly that colour. It was "Mint Julep".
