Anyone out there have any idea where I may get ahold of a replacement veranda side step for one of these vans?
As I have damaged one on my 40815 Eugenio wagon.

is this it?

It looks a bit different, (I'll bung in a photo of mine.) the postage is rather steep, but they don't ship to the UK, I have asked them in the past, and the answer was no.

Found the part, same supplier, but still faced with the same problems.

Madness not being able to get hold of a €3 ish cost part to the UK. Wondering how it has been broken, is a fix possible say using some mains wire copper? Or is it the step that is broken? Sure it may be fixable in some way or another. Do a pic, if I think it looks fixable and you do not feel confident happy to have a go at it for you.

Gordon do you have another piece of rolling stock with the same step? I have a banana van , which I thought was similar but the step is part of the front buffer face, mine has one broken step as well, if it had been the same, I could have printed one for you but I need a good copy to measure from to make a 3D print from.
If you can identify the step on another wagon, maybe I have one and can take the details from that?
Sorry I can’t be more helpful

Just had a look at some other stock, this from the small wagon. It’s about 35mm wide, it’s it’s any good let me know. It will take me a couple of days to process it, then it’s your!

In no particular order:-

Damage part was found in one of the passing loops, but no collisions or other have occured. (I was looking for a missing coupling hook from something else at the time.)

Have managed to glue it back using that EMA stuff, so I guess it's a different type of plastic from the lgb norm.

Yes it's not good in the lack of spares from German suppliers, but we, as in the general UK collective huffed them a few years back, so they have taken their spares (ball) and gone in. (No one mentions the "B" word OK.) Now I have a part number, it looks to be discontinued by LGB, so only Modell land or their US partner and Champex Linden are the only apparent options. Postage works out at about £30, and in one case there could be a £100 min order surcharge.o_O

Don't think the others will fit, as its tailored to go up against the wagon frame in places, but thanks for the offers.

3D printing, it's a lot of effort for what is basically a small cosmetic part I know is broken and sort of bugs me, but I can live with it.

Suppose I will find a S/H wagon going or one of those other versions (Yes I have one and the steps have already been repaired.) that may be a source of spares.

Ok, not really a big effort for me, I enjoy the challenge! I have successfully printed two steps for my continental baggage coach, and I find it difficult to see which is the original as compared to the printed one.
If you are happy with your solution, that’s fine, but the offer is still there, if you want me to print one later.
Cheers
Dave
