Resetting to factory settings for LGB chip

I have a LGB sumpter valley (now returned!) with a factory chip in it. It has a tendency to suddenly take off when parked in a siding for no good reason. I want to reset the chip to factory settings to see if that cures it.

I know that it is CV55 to do so but what value does one enter? 0 or 1 or something else?

Anyone else had this problem and found a way to cure it?

If i recall, set CV 55 to value 55
 
Got the LGB 55045 Decoder Interface with software with my Lappy?

I can bring it to the MRC on Thursday....

Not met the problem myself but I have heard that that fix, fixes it. Best of luck.
 
Thanks I will try turning off the analogue 1st.

Dont know about you Garry but I will be at the AGM on Thursday. Guess you might be a bit lonely!!

Just had a look at my LGB 55045 MTS decoder software, but I can't see CV55 here?

Maybe I need to connect to the loco and read the values before I see it on the GUI....

I would think that the button marked 'Rest all values to factory pre-set values' is the one you want, however before I did that I'd try setting the 'Analog running:' to 'locked'.

I've used the Single CV readout button once to restore sound on an MRC decoder, which are mapped differently to LGB/Massoth ones.

So it's possible to use the LGB product on other manufacturers decoder, if you know what CV to program....

Yep - that'll change CV29. Worth trying before a factory reset.
CV29 is one of the awkward ones - it controlls various functions. The LGB software breaks it down into separate components for you.:clap:
