There is a thread about Kato Trams in N, links to your vids would be appreciated in that thread I reckon. As there are a few Kato N guys in this forum, including me.thanks mate,it ll be a pleasure to answer them,assuming I can of course!

Welcome to the forum. Your experience with modelling is the same as mine. I. Was modelling in 00 but developed the same problem.,arthritis in my hands as you describe at the base of the thumbs.
As a result I moved to G gauge and things are a bit better. I to am modelling in a small space 8 x 12 ft ( the garage) and will move out into the garden when the garage layout is sorted.Pico starter sets the same.
The best thing about a layout inside you can play in all weathers..

It’s actually laminate floor underlayit’s a high density foam which is very strong but easy to cut,it also has superb sound deadening qualities and it’s cheap as chips mate.I first used it on my n gauge layout so I could sink the tram tracks into it so they woud be level with the ground.

This was a buy it now but I was following the one I think you re talking about. It went last night for £79 plus postage.
Hi PaulThe locco hanging up is a tin plate ornamental model that my grandkids bought me which may find its way onto the layout at some point
I assume you mean the ac dc poster? It’s just a poster from eBay,but yeah,the best rock band ever imho
I have only just seen your posting, been too busy with other things.

And, very importantly, when people mention AC/DC, I like to take the opportunity to mention that my friend was actually a band member of AC/DC.
It’s not much of a claim to fame, or anything else, but one has to grab every such opportunity! lol.

The pole can be held down in the Brass Clip at each end of the Tram. Without overhead it will spring up like yours has, it is possible to keep it at a better height by using some black cotton to hold it down.

it only arrived late afternoon yesterday so not looked at it properly yet,I just ran it quickly to check it was working and noticed it was a bit loose.

How goes it this week with the layout.? I like your tram it looks like a nice bit of kit. Have you managed to get the upper track sorted ? Not got much done on Hemlock Central this week due to hospital appointments

Hi all,
a quick update on red river,I braved the weather with my son and constructed the raised tracks for the trains.This gave me enough space to put in a double tram line as I can now push the buildings back under the train tracks.
one tram is on a loop the other on a back and forth control board.
view from the shed doors,the box section on the left will house the electrics.

the Main Street section,the railings across the platform area will eventually go all around.
not so much room on this side so will be more rural with single story buildings and no road
small tram depot/station will be fenced off with a small church and school in front
looking back from inside,I disconnect the curves and the board slides out.

So with 3 Weeks off work and nothing better to do plus the nice weather I decided to make a start on the garden railway.
the overall area is about 4x3.5 meters.
for now I ve used the track from the shed layout plus some large radius curves from a very good friend of mine.
i ve ordered 100 new screw connectors and where the track crosses on the flags it will be screwed down,the rest of the flags will be removed.The beige flags at the front of the shed will be left as they are and a small station and platform will go there with a few other buildings and lights.
There will be a small pond sitting inside the rock area and the rest will be planted then gravelled.
the story so far,
