Rear lights always on.?

I have just put a massoth XLS decoder in my LGB Rugens loco and all is well except that the rear lights are always on.
The front lights are fine - toggle on and off with F9 and come on when going forward and off when backwards. The rear stay on, all the time.
I have used the DCC connection plug so a wiring fault should not be the issue here. Looks to me like a CV needs correcting or I have a duff decoder.
Any ideas?

are they always on, as in dim... then u turn them on ..super bright??

no, just always on - as is the interior light. No change in brightness at any time.

ok, silly questions,
uv checked the relivant cvs??

Assuming you wired up correctly, check CV 52. & 53 with your decoder manual. 52 perhaps reads 128 i.e. lights on when in standard driving direction. Does cv53 = 64 i.e ON only if backwards if 128 then change to 64 and try that.

If this does not work, sorry unable to help further

Hi Stockers. Can you check that the blue wire from the 55026 is going to LH on the XLS (Licht Hinten/ rear light) and the green wire to the -ve terminal? Reverse the two and I'd expect to get exactly the symptoms you describe.

Hi just read mine out ;

cv 49 3
Cv 50 5
CV51 128
Cv 52 64
CV53 32

These are on XLS chip

Hope this helps

Its a duff decoder. Just tried the one for my FrankS and it works perfect.
BIG NOTE; Using the massoth DCC interface (not the LGB 55026 but the long plug as now supplied with the decoder) one does NOT have to reduce the voltage for the lights - the original electronics must still be doing this. I presume (but not tested yet) the same goes for smoke.

It was a duff decoder. A nice new replacement was supplied by DGScale and all is well.
The Rugens whistle recording is really quite impressive.
