Programming A Massoth Point Decoder With Mts Lgb 55045e In Cambridgeshire

I am trying to help my mate Big Norm in Cambridgeshire set up his Massoth Dimax to operate his point motors. He has brought Massoth Decoders for this.

I tried using my MTS Programmer LGB 55045 at home to do this, and it seems I can write to the decoder, but oddly, I couldn't read it back to prove it.

Has anyone else any experience of doing so at all? I'm not sure if MTS is 'upwards compatible'....

I strongly suspect you need a Massoth programmer module rather than the LGB one for this, Giz......

However if you can write to the decoder successfully, that may be enough - can you test it after programming to make sure it has "taken" OK?

Jon.

I guess so Jon, but I thought I would give it a go?

I'll have to drop the decoder off at Norm's later and get him to test it....

What hand controller is he using - a Navigator?

Yes mate.

I know how to program with the Navigator.

But with being so busy at work, and therefore not able to get over as much as I would like, I was planning/hoping to program them 'off line' at home.

I'll have a look at Duncan's thread for ideas too....

Did you unlock it?
Did you have a load attached?
I'm sure you should be able to "read" the CVs with the 55045.

I didn't have a load attached at the time as I haven't a spare motor to hand.

I will 'borrow' one and try again.

Cheers Mark....

Gizzy, if problems persist I am in Cambs with Massoth Kit. Always welcome over here to set up, try out and test. Even have odd LGB Point Motors to set up as a Test Rig.

Cheers JD,

I will have to try and get across to St Nits soon and view your line....
