Programming 55025 decoder with NCE system?

I'm just rebuilding my garden railway. I have an NCE Powerhouse 10A system to run things. I also have a couple of 55025 switch decoders. They work fine but they are both stuck at addresses 1-4, and nothing I do seems to change that. I can't find anythng anywhere about programming them other than with LGB's own controllers, so maybe it isn't even possible.

Here's what I'm doing:

1. Insert the "program" jumper, and connect a switch motor to the A terminals
2. Set the NCE system to "program accessory decoder"
3. Select address 1 (or 5, it makes no difference)
4. Set CV1 (address) to 5

This has no effect. Has anyone else managed to do this (or with any system other than LGB/Massoth)?

Many thanks...

Are you attempting to program the switch decoder "on the main" or using the "programming track"?

AFAIK the 55025 cannot be programmed on the main!

Connect it to your programming track (with a suitable load).

From the NCE manual I understand that you should use shortcut "Prog 4" - "Use Program Track" and then option 2 "Program any CV" to do this.

Many thanks, that did the trick. Although for the future, the Digitrax decoders at about half the price per switch look like the way to go.

I use NCE SwitchKat single channel decoders with my LGB switch motors. They get sealed into a small electronics "project box" and sit next to the switch.
