all manner of mechanical apparatus...
I would say it's fitted with a Euro 2 pin plug, they look similar to the American 2 pin plug but are for use with 220v and not 110v. Just cut it off and replace with what ever standard is used is your part of the world, subject to the voltage being correct.

Edit very quick thought after posting, you may be able to obtain an adaptor of some sort.

Trev. I bought an adaptor for my Panasonic digital camera charger which has the same plug as your unit. Came from Poundland. Not sure what your standard household sockets are like or whether you have Poundland (or would it be Dollarland?) but there must be something similar in the way of discount stores and much of their stuff originates in China which is a lot closer to you than it is to us.

The plug shown on the photo is for 110 V US systems.

However, the link does state that it comes with 2 power cables, so maybe one of these is for European or British? Probably with an IEC (Commonly called kettle) connector on the other end which plugs into the unit. There may also be a selector on the back for either 110 or 230 Volt, or it may operate on 'multirange' like a lot of modern PCs do.

These days, all electrical equipment sold in the European Union must be fitted with the correct plug for the country it is sold in. Uk and Ireland have the 3 pin plug, and the rest of Europe the 2 pin 'Schucco' type plug.

I would imagine that there may be a similar law for Australasia....
