potential bargin? IOM Diesel

It's up to £144 now

It's up to £203 now

with 3 days to go

Edit jumped to £265 in the last 10mins

A very nice loco.

What did they go for new? are they obtainable now ? if you wanted one & missed the boat , this may be worth considering. I did stress this would possibly be a possible bargin & I am not interested in it my self. I believe they are constructed from brass.
Cheers Garry

Weren't they around £400 new?
It may be cynical, but the only time I'll mention on here something that I've spotted is if I'm NOT interested in bidding on it myself... If I am, then the fewer others that have noticed it, the better! ;)

I actually had a very lucky purchase on evilBay recently, a mint boxed late-production (2005) LGB Harz 2-6-2 with factory MTS that for some reason had been listed under an unusual category (can't recall which, but not the usual G section) - got it for around £260, which I thought was an OK price - when it arrived and I put it on my test rollers, I found it had sound fitted as well, which had not even been mentioned in the auction...

There are non available now that I know of. I scraped together the money to buy one of the last factory recondition ones last year. Many had gearbox faults and mine had a new design fitted I was told.
This is useful information ! I read this forum & garden rail avidly & never realised this ( although I do miss the odd thread Whilst on holiday)
Cheers Garry

As I said its not a prototype that interests me , but having read funandtrains post I definitely wouldn't touch a second hand on with the proverbial barge pole. So if by posting on here we learn more then that can only be a good thing.

Kentkeith ran his here and it was quite impressive. Very heavy (metal body) and large - its 20.3:1

Well, it went for £367 in the end! Hope the buyer doesn't have any gearbox trouble with it, if not then he's probably got a decent purchase, if not exactly a bargain.

Both Victors and Accucraft are still around - should be fixable if it's problematical :nail::thinking:

And to put it onto perspective, the body kit alone on my avatar was about 1/3 of that final bid

I pretty good price as I think they were a little more than that new.

Something like £425 - £450 - pre-order price was about £400...........

If my memory serves me well.

Victors are no longer trading and I dont think Accucraft UK will touch them.

That's a shame about Victors - oh well, the gearbox should be fixable (if necessary), but at a price :brokeheart:

So what will happen with the IOM railcar then which I thought was designed by Victors and meant to be manufactured by Accucraft? It still appears on some trades websites as a product still in the making...

If that really is the case, it does not say much for the trader, does it.

Don't know about the Accudraft one, but Steve at Back2Bay6 has a kit advertised, and Brandbright were promising a resin kit.
