POLA Turntable 330835

I have the original Pola turntable (when Pola was an independent organisation endorsed by Lehman Patent Works) never used digital gimmicks for control, works satisfactorily in analogue state. But what advice is really needed today is how to make the reissued product work specifically with the current Mfx system which Maerklin place in today’s LGB locos and accessories. This would help new would be purchasers make up their minds about the wisdom of the investment.
This turntable has an dcc decoder so nothing new here!

Using this turntable isnt that difficult, just read the manual and set the CV's .Operating on yours dcc csystem, thats the part which can be tricky, as each brand has there own way of user interface, whether or not suitable for simple and clear use of this turntable.

Had a look at the link to the instructions and these are my thoughts -

Have you set any values for CV 200 ? (assuming you are using low switch addresses, otherwise CV 199)

It looks as though the turntable as supplied has all the address CV's set to 0. As there are 24 exits for the turntable, the ones that you wish to use must be given an address.
The addresses are applied in the range CV 200, 202 etc to CV 246 even numbers only for low switch addresses.

The 'home' position will be at CV 200 (or CV 199) and all the other exits are counted from there anti-clockwise. For the exits that are not used their values will be left at 0

Note that all the exits can have an address including those that are half a rotation or opposite another position.

AL
Yes, all CV exits addressed for testing.

Coding CV’s to communicate with the Z21 controller via Z21 app is exactly my confusion. The graphic app has specific characteristics. For example, the turntable graphic representation has exits labeled clockwise. The app allows the exits to be active or inactive. When switched to active the app assigns exit an address.
I’m beginning to think the controller wants the turntable to act like 24 turnouts.

Erm I kind of mentioned on post 27 that turnout operation in DCC was part if the key. The one at Horsley only had 3 roads and 1 exit.

The technical department of the German Faller Company that produces the Pola Turntable response to my email:

The AI translation:

“It may be that the app only assigns a switch address for the function of the turntable. It may be that it works like this for Roco and Fleischmann discs (these are identical), from your own house, similar to Märklin.

With our decoder, you have to assign a separate switch address for each function. It is best to try this first with the functions motor on/of and rotation direction change.

Assign switch address for the function Engine on/of. If it is not the address 1, then in the configuration of this switch address in the CV121 enter the new switch address instead of the standard programming 1.

Assign new switch address for the rotation direction function. If it is not the address 2, then in the configuration of this switch address in the CV131 enter the new switch address instead of the standard programming 2.

Proceed in the same way for each additional function.

If you only want to start certain departures, then do the same. Create a new switch address for each departure and then change the values for the CV in the configuration. These are the values 200 – 246 in the table. How to set the values can be seen in the description on page 10 (last paragraph and page 11)”

I will attempt the suggestions.
