Small G Scale Turntable

Hi All,
I am contemplating converting an ATLAS HO turntable to G Scale Track. A 300 MM section of LGB track will overlay the HO track and the HO track will be covered with media of some description so it will not be visible, The Turntable will only be for LGB STAINZ locos so 300mm in track Diameter will be enough. The ATLAS turntable I have is powered and indexes so I will be able to use 4 or 5 of the indexed stops. The turntable has a motor housing, the track length of 300mm will foul on the structure so I will not be be able to rotate 360 degrees, this is not an issue. I would prefer a turntable to a sector plate. Has anyone any ideas, built something similar, pics, ETC. Regards and thanks to all, MAURIELGB

The large size of the locomotives may be to much for the bearings.

I assume this will be inside? - I doubt the original would fair well outside.

If for occasional use, it may be fine.
I don't know the item, does it have some kind of support around the edge? - This will take much of the weight, so may need occasional light lubrication, and keeping an eye on for wear.

The turntable will be fori nside use only, I haven't had a look inside it to see what supports the the actual turntable, I am going to use the turntable to store locos on the layout rather than in boxes, more for visual effect and occasional use. I guess I will have to take a look inside the turntable to see what supports it. As the LGB 300mm track is longer than the turntable track, I intend to have a quite close tolerance beneath the track and the layout board so there's no 'rocking' to and from, I have also considered incorporating a 'lazy susan' frame on the outer edge of the track for support If I can find one of the right size. The 'Lazy Susan' sounds like a good solution.

Lazy Susans can make good ‘handrolic turntables, here is mine on my G3 layout. I have used Plasticard to make the edges, just needs Coffee Stirrer decking planks fitting now.

I have 2 lazy susan based turntables both 90mm long. one is used to run locos onto and off of storage cassettes.

I have a disused Lazy Susan lying in wait, in case I ever build an indoor layout.

But I hope I'll have the garden layout for many years to come, so Susan may have to exert some patience....
