Please can anyone identify this loco?

This photo is of an 0-4-0 loco running at the Cosmopolitan Gold Mine, Pine Creek in the Northern Territory of Australia and was taken in 1895. Can anyone identify the loco please?

My vote is also for a Peckett.

But I don't know if they were that early? - But then, I am not good on dates and history..

Is it a Hunslet? Whereas most of them had a vertical sided saddle tank, I found one on the wiki page for Quarry Hunslets, that had a rounded saddle tank as the photo. The cab was a bit more basic though.

I presume the catalogue number on the photo has not revealed any pertinent information.

Just a thought but if you approach the Light Railway Research Society of Australia Inc. {www.lrrsa.org.au} re this query they may be able to throw some light on it.

Mickb was correct. An Australian light railway loco expert, John Browning, says it is Kerr Stuart builders number 10 of 1893. It was ordered by William Knight of Singapore and arrived at the Cosmopolitan Gold Mining Company, Pine Creek in 1894. It then was owned by five other mining companies before being scrapped in 1955.
