Plants for garden railway?

My thoughts for some plants that will look good on a garden railway to mimic forrest plants trees etc:
  • Dwarf Alberta Spruce
  • Dwarf Mountain Pine / Mugo Pine
  • Creeping Rosemary
  • Common Thyme
  • Dwarf Lavender / Compact Lavender
  • Dwarf Cotoneaster / Rock Cotoneaster
  • Oregano / Marjoram
  • Chamomile
  • Dwarf Sage
  • Stonecrop / Sedum
  • Goldmoss Stonecrop / White Stonecrop
  • Creeping Thyme
  • Blue Fescue
  • Common Polypody Fern
  • Miniature Hosta

Why? go to your intra tuin or local garden store and look for herbs you use in the kitchen.

Most of them you can find for free in rural eara's and on the banks of canals.
Take a bag and a wet towel with you.
Most plants behave just fine, but some require proper containment, and I’m not talking about putting them on a dog leash.

Please note, whilst this advice is probably fine in other countries, for Great Britain it's actually illegal to collect a lot of species of wild flowers, we're not even meant to touch a lot of them, let alone dig them up.
