Piko V 60 with a problem. The loco was fitted with an ESU LookPilot 5 DCC decoder but despite setting CV 5 to 60 km/h (the top speed of the original) the loco trundles forwards correctly however in reverse it takes off like an ICE. I thought the chip was at fault so bought and fitted a brand new one (made this year) but the same problem occurs. Does anybody have any ideas before it goes to the shop that I am unimpressed with?
Thanks,

Sounds like a possible wiring problem, like an errant connection between a motor lead and a track lead. It can happen so it only shows up in one direction.

Remove the decoder, connect just the track leads and a motor to the decoder (do not use any of the loco wiring)

I am not familar with your decoder, but LGB mfx decoders have two different CVs to trim max speed for forward and reverse (believe they are CV66 and CV95). You should check if this is the case for your decoder as well, according to this link it may be so:
