PIKO BR64 Smoke Box Door

Hello all

I am in need of a smoke box door for the PIKO BR64 steam loco. At some point during running the smoke box door seems to have sprung open, got caught on something and then broke off and disappeared into thin air.

Currently have a loco with just a big hole in the front of it and would like to get a replacement sorted.

I can only find the spare part on one website (model-land.de) but they don’t seem to ship to the UK?

If anybody could help with something suitable that would be great!

If you can find the PIKO part number from your exploded parts diagram that came with the loco, or from piko.de website, then you could ask Gaugemaster (UK PIKO distributor) if they have it or can order it for you.

Depending on how much of the smokebox door you have lost, you may need up to three parts:
37210-24 Smoke box door
37210-25 Smoke box door hinge
37210-26 Smoke box door fittings
Sometimes the part numbers have a prefix ET (Ersatzteile).
The piko.de site shows they have these in stock but it depends on the model number of your BR64. For example there is no stock for 37210 but there is stock for 37212 (the OBB version). They are probably the same parts but they may have the running number on the smoke box door. PIKO do not ship to UK consumers but Gaugemaster will (presumably) be able to get them for you,

I did try to get through to gauge master yesterday but after 25 minutes on hold I gave up. Will try popping them an email over I think

Erm they will have been closed for the Bank Holiday, but I suspect their phone line would not have indicated thus.

Yes it's easy to forget when you are retired that there are such things as bank holidays!

Yerp, every day is a holiday when you are retired. Well except if you have ankle snappers to look after, thankfully I do not have that problem.
