Piko 62041 Signal Tower "rosenbach"

Not for me Jon it doesn't pass the "1m rule". My signalbox is on the ground and I can't see the rudimentary bunch of 4 signal levers that come with the kit, so buying more would be pointless. People with exhibition layouts or scenic indoor layouts might be interested. There may be other items outside of lineside buildings that may be of more interest.

Dave, I didn't realise the Piko kit came with any interior detail at all (the Pola equivalent doesn't) - any chance of a photo (or even just a description) of the parts that are included?

All good references, thanks! Still need to know if anyone would actually be interested enough in these to make them worth doing.... or is it like Dave says, interior detail for buildings is not sufficiently visible to be worth worrying about...?

While we're talking about this, are there any other smallish G (or 16mm) detail items - for rolling stock, buildings or lineside use - that people would find useful in whitemetal, especially for European prototypes (mainly because that's where my own interest lies), things that are awkward or time-consuming to scratchbuild in quantity, and that are not already covered by exisiting manufacturers in the hobby....?
Any ideas welcome, if enough people show an interest in a particular suggestion then I will consider it.....

Zerogee I reckon I would be interested in something generic to place inside my signal box. Perhaps if I were modelling an actual individual European signal box then I would want to model the frames and levers myself, but for something fairly simple but representative to paint and place inside a kit I would be quite happy with that.

The signal boxes they sell seem to come with internal furniture - including lever frames of various sizes. Their downloadable catalogue describes this in more detail. [eg the "midi" box contains " a 16 lever frame, table, chair, pot bellied stove, kettle, telephone, wall clock and a railway magazine."]

They do sell a separate item called "signal box furniture" but it doesn't say what this includes - it is much cheaper than the full model signal boxes though. It might be worth giving them a call, to see what they would sell you, without having to buy a complete signal box model.

Well to be honest I didn't realise the kit included a desk and lever frame !!
My railway is very much still at planning stage and the signal box and station are still in their boxes, while I've been following this thread and gathering info (mea culpa, but poor weather and more important work/house commitments have held it off).

I understand the consideration about what you can actually see at a distance, however one of the delights I get personally is when looking at models close-up and seeing the effort a modeller has gone to and the surprise one gets sometimes at the level of detail executed. Of course there are only so many hours in a day

Thanks Dave - I think I could produce something that looks a little better than that, though at least Piko make the effort to include something as opposed to Pola's empty cabin....... interestingly some other Pola kits have amazing interior detailing, I recently bought a snack hut kit from them which has a fully detailed kitchen with rotisserie in the back including a couple of dozen G scale cooked chickens....!

Nice stuff, but British pattern again - as we discussed above, several sources make UK style lever frames of the floor-mounted push-pull type, but no-one (with the exception of the hand-built Kotsch one that Pugs found) seems to do the very different rotary-type levers that the Continental railways use.....

Had that. All the flaming Weißbier glasses came in two halves (why?) which made them a pain to assemble and more of a pain to paint - oh yes, I went that far. Loony.
