Here is my big Hustler . I cut the back of the cab off and detailed it some. It's a great little engine and one that I run alot. Would love to see everyone's big Hustlers

Looks rvery good Jack. The cut back rear really does give it a presence.
I have a couple of them but no pictures as of yet.

I do have an Accucraft Plymouth though..... but not yet weathered..

I'm in the process of 'bigging mine up' to 1:20.3, but the new chassis is still on its way to me - I could still be a few weeks away from finishing.

So far it looks like............

I am literally all over the place I got way to many projects going on at one time. Im Im g scale overload. Building the layout . Two Lil haulers half done just weathered my battery climax. And now working on a Lionel kit bash.lol.

This is mine, its a "matched train" using an idea pinched from JR in Tawa and some skips made following a "Garden Whistle" (an NZ publication) article.
This was when it had a "LED Controller" with a PICAXE sound card as the R/C driver but now has a Pololu ESC (PICAXE to be re installed).
Batteries in the last 3 skips R/C in the first.

I had thought of raising the cab and bonnet with a skirt, especially as I was looking to create space for battery power. However, I've gone a slightly more expensive route, because the gear shafts had cracked and split, I decided to buy a different chassis, and thus have been able to cram a battery pack in the diminutive bonnet.

I still have to find somewhere to locate the ESC and the Rx though

I'm sitting here looking at mine and to see up under it I have to bend down considerably. Matter of fact before I added R/C to mine I has 2 AA cells glues up there and you really had to look hard to see them.
As for the Rx I took the plastic cover off one of mine and carefully bent the pins so I could fit it into the boiler backhead of a Stainz sized loco, along with an ESC, (Pic attached).
The plastic cover can easily be replaced with some heatshrink for insulation if needed but if it is surrounded by plastic there is no need.

I hadn't really thought of the cab roof - while it might hide the ESC, there's a million wires that would trail down.... however, that might be an ideal location for the R/x

I'm going to try and fix the ESC against one of the end spacers of the chassis - it'll provide a bit of a heat sink, and as the chassis has been extended beyond the normal length, there's a smidgen of space
