Just fitted one of Peter's new sound modules to Wynford (formerly known as IP Engineering Jessie). Not had a chance to test it out thoroughly yet as only just had time to fit and test run after returning from Llanfair - but well pleased so far......

Very nice. I'm about to start butchering a Bachmann Davenport and I'm looking for a diesel or petrol sound board.

Impressed with that Sir.

Not bad for £60 inc, speaker. They were on the Chuffed2Bits stand at Llanfair set up in a display if you want to see and hear one 'live'.

Will try getting a bit more video today.

PS - Alternatively, phone Peter up and he will run a loco and play the sound to you down the phone line.
PPS - The 'Edit' button seems to have disappeared from my previous posts(??)
PPPS - But not from this one - now that's weird

A couple of photos showing the unit and the associated wiring.

It's a lot easier to wire up than it might seem from the photo - two wires to the battery - two wires to the motor feed - two wires to the loudspeaker - and two wires to the radio controlled switch (for the horn and to start-up and stop the diesel engine) - (see - http://riksrailway.blogspot.com/2013/09/adding-sound-module-to-battery-loco.html < Link To http://riksrailway.blogsp...e-to-battery-loco.html )

Rik,
Lovely line and loco. There is no doubt that this Sound Unit is streets ahead of the original 'White Noise Sound' Units. I think that I must get one of these. I wonder if he (Peter Spoerer) is going to do a Digi Steam unit? Or perhaps he already does and I do not know about it?

Thanks Jon (and Paul)
When I ordered it I asked if there was going to be a similar steam unit and Peter indicated it's more difficult to produce a steam sound unit using the same principles as the diesel unit because of the need to synch the exhaust sound to the speed of the wheels. He did say, however, that the latest version of the MyLocoSound unit has a 'cruise' setting which adjusts the volume dependent on whether the loco is accelerating or decelerating.

Can't take any credit for the sounds - that's down to Peter Spoerer

Certainly sounded very much alive when I spoke to him on the phone today. Just ordered a MyLocoSound steam card - something else to play with!

Sorry about the alarm and concern - Will have to watch the title of my next posting - maybe keep it short - eg Petes' chuffer - surely that can't be misread? :D

Rik
PS - Yes the apostrophe is in the right place - there are two Petes - Lucas and Spoerer
