Peckforton Light Railway - Sunny running

A great video, Rik, with superb shots and views. Wonderful sounds from the railway, too, apart from the music, although that didn't seem to last long.

Cancel the comment on the music - somehow from somewhere another video was playing for a time and the music from that, mixed with the music on Rik's video was the problem.

Nice. Thoroughly enjoyed it. One question though. At about 1:40 you did a pan in shot. I was thinking that there was something in the bushes I was supposed to see. LOL

Thanks for the encouraging comments, folks.
No, nothing in the bushes, Dan. I maybe should have been quicker with the zoom (third attempt).
One day, I think I'll compile a bloopers video with all the expletives left in.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. How did you create the train sounds, wheels clanking, etc.?

I lifted the sounds from other videos, edited them in Audacity and then dubbed them on to this video. Quite a few sounds came from a visit I made to Statfold Barn (http://ngruk.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/statfold-barn-railway.html) whilst others came from various visits made to the WLLR (http://ngruk.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/welshpool-llanfair-light-railway.html). Not got around to editing together the WLLR video yet; it will be a compilation of several visits.

Statfold is great as trains run continuously and so sitting by the track in one spot gives hours (almost literally) of footage. The WLLR is trickier as quite a bit of the line is alongside the road and you get a lot of traffic noise.

March 2004 in the title?????

Darn it!! No idea why I typed 2004 - must be living in the past
You may have noticed I've superimposed a title over the original one to correct the date.
?? Weird, the extra title appears when I view the video on the laptop but not when I view it on the tablet??

I'm used to seeing fairly average videos of garden railways so this came as a fantastic surprise. Great filming, brilliant editing, wonderful trains and exactly the right length. This is a top video. It's a pity it's too late to enter it for the G Rail video competition. I'm sure it would have done very well. This has set the bar for garden railway videos. More please.

Saw this on you tube last night, super film :D

Aw gee.... thanks chaps.

I'd like to say it's something I just knocked-together but it did take a little bit longer. I noticed I could see the distant tracks across the lawn through the gap where the bridges are and thought it might make a decent video vantage-point. I might try looking for some other viewpoints.

Here's one of the shots I decided not to use - it didn't fit the narrative of the main film but it's quite a nice shot. The sun is only at this angle for a few minutes and only at certain times of the day.

BTW - beautiful blue sky here today - but the sun is going dark - is it the end of the world - what was it I said I'd do in the last three minutes???

Love it
Nicely constructed video
The railway looks great and the sound effects really suit it

I think you're supposed to eat peanuts. (hitch hikers guide...)
That obviously did the trick - sun back to normal this morning :D
