Well my new leader has arrived my first ever accucraft engine. Now i have a few railway and non railway projects to get done first but have a question.

Has anyone ever painted an accy engine? I hate lots of brass on an engine so the filler cap and pipework in the cab asre solved by etching primers. I also dont like gloss. So if I want a matt or satin body can I clean and repaint over the paint thats on it or varnish or should I strip back to metal?

also what do you guys use for the cream in the cab? in the past ive just used spray undercoat and Humbrol cream any better ideas?

cheers,

Simon.

ps John at trackshack is a wonderfull chap- fully recomend him!

First of all if you are going to varnish the loco go over the exisiting paint with an enamel varnish.

For cab interior cream us a humbrol tinlet.

When painting brass, clean it up with wire wool, etch primer it then top coat it.
