Hi all,

I?ve got some GRS aluminium that I need to paint, thinking just plain Red primer. I started one but the paint won?t stick. Ideally I?d like to spray paint them, any tips? Should I be de-greasing first, and heard Aluminium is hard to paint. Also I will be making the decks from water proof ply, what should I use to treat this?

Thanks

Simon

Hi Simon, yes ally can be hard to get paint to stick too,in the past when i have painted it i firstly undercoat it with an etching primer, useully does the trick. If you want spray primer try Evil-bay they have a good selection from £5.49.

Yes needs to be clean with a nonmettalic scouring pad and metho then spray with etch primer..... Preparation is everything when painting non ferrous metals.....
