Hi all

Having a right mare painting a gauge 3 dmu. I've used car paints and really need to start again. It's all quite upsetting. Anyway I've tried model strip, won't strip the paint. So any ideas?

Thanks

Simon.

I've used car brake fluid successfully on plastics and metals before Si, but I'd try it on a scrap piece first. Oh, and wear gloves too.

Had a company van vandalised with spray paint once. Got if off with petrol, dabbed a spot on a rag then rubbed off the offending spray paint.

Don't think I'd like to chance it on resin though.

Bits of resin are in brake fluid and petrol this afternoon - I'll report back later.

What ever method you use Alan don't forget to wash the item in warm soapy water afterwards (thoroughly) or you might find the new paint job blistering. Do not ask:crying::crying:

Caustic soda in water is good where a solvent stripper is to harsh. Usually has the mix ratio on the packet. A mate of mine swears by "Drano" drain cleaner which is safe on plastics...
