Yes, I noticed that the other day..... couldn't you just sell the wife or some other female relative? ;)

What a beast, what a beauty.......

The phrase " When I win lotto" spring to mind.
One of my favourite NSWGR locos

Ended. No takers! It may come back on but then we may never see another for sale for a very long time.

:crying::crying::crying:

It's back on now if anyone is interested. Maybe the postage is putting buyers off!

The cost of getting it delivered may well be as high as £300, but not a great amount for anyone able to part with nearly £8000 just before Christmas.
I have never even seen a real one! Perhaps I can come and visit when it arrives, and I will bring the beer too.....now that is an offer that should clinch the purchase.

I had the privilege of seeing two of these when they first came out in the 90's and yes they were beautiful. Bob Head, who had the scale model of the Saltash bridge across his 'pond' in gauge 1 had the prototype and an as then unbuilt one too. We had a guided tour by Bob of his Aster collection and he told the story that the Count upset the company by letting Bob have the prototype. An amazing collection seeing huge tables full of virtually all the models Aster had made and drip trays to collect residue from running them. He was a really nice gent, certainly a worthy guardian of such a superb collection and I've often wondered what happened to them all when he passed away.

It's already on my 'watch list', and I've bought my lottery ticket! Oh and I've seen many of it's cousins running pulling heavy loads.

A S.A. GA class is available for 'drool' at the Manchester Museum of Science and Technology, if you want to see one.

Talking of garrets of a certain age that have a certain attraction and maybe able to pull a bit..................

Sorry Beave', maybe she can sing, but she can't spell! Either that or she's a traction engine! :rolf::rolf::rolf:

Unsold second time around. I wonder if he's asking a tad too much?

I sometimes wonder when looking at some (most) "collectors" listings on Ebay wether any real thought has been given to marketing the item properly. Especialy with top dollar items such as these.
1) A picture is worth a thousand words - so why out of 4 pictures are two virtually identcal and none actually convey any complete or relevent information.
2) Scant description of the article or proof of provenance, even though only probably a dedicated collector who should know the product will be the buyer.
3) Non-sequiters - "A joy to run". Such a joy that it has only been steamed once !
4) Having seen and heard the result of similar loco's being shipped (close -up an Accy' K-28 and Cab Forward at a UK service agent) no assurances on shipping.

I reckon (IMHO) that Ebay might be the wrong pitch for an item of this type and a specialist auction house might be a better bet.

Max.
