New railway in East midlands

Garden railways, Fishing. My work Shop
Hi this is just to say that soon I will be moving to Withern In Lincolnshire. I am looking at building a new railway consisting of G scale 45ml and 16 gage lines. the area available for this is approximately 45mts x 19mts. virgin ground with mature trees. lots of ground work and planning needed. a workshop (to be Built) not included in this area and a further building to house all stock and a 00 layout. most buildings will be scratch built in the work shop. I am looking to see if there is any one out there who would like to get involved in this project. of course all refreshments and usual amenities would be available. I have little experience in the technical side but learn very quickly and with the vast amount of experience out there I am sure all will work out. my joy is building, and the ground work comes easy to me, water features, rivers, valleys, bridges and tunnels no problem, but would like to give all, the opportunity to take part in the building of this railway. Any One Interested???post?forumID=11&pop=true# < Link To

If you were staying in Stanwell I would have probably been able to help, I'm not far away near Staines.
Good luck with the move and the fresh start, I see lots of hard work in the future for you :D It pays off though in this rewarding hobby.

Welcome to the forum Les.

The G Scale Society has an active East Midlands Group, which might be worth you joining....

Welcome Les. Off the top of my head I can't think of many members of the forum who live in Lincolnshire? I lived over that way for a time in the 70's (Coningsby). Watch out for those nurses in Louth!!:bigsmile:

Gizzy's suggestion of joining the East Mids GSS group is probably your best bet.

Well Les I sure would have liked to have given you a hand but etc. I was in Lincolnshire in 1955, RAF Kirton-in-Lindsey, did an exercise at Donna Nook at that time, that is the coldest place in Britain, in Spetember. RAF Strubby just on your doorstep is it not? Nurses at Louth eh? I should cocoa, best we could get were the steeworkers daughters in Scunthorpe on a Saturday night. They could show you the difference between a nut and a bolt. Look forward to seeing how your railway develops

Welcome Les, a bit too far for me I'm afraid. Good luck with it - cor, just think of all that track ! :nail:

Welcome To our mad world.

As a member of the East Midlands Group then i could be your point of contact also there is the North Anglia Area group of the G-Scale society as well...

Tis a little distance for me to travel but the outlaws live at Boston so a visit may be the order of the day...

Thanks for the responses, I will Contact you Steve when I have settled in. I will be joining the local group. I am sure that if I have troubles this mad house will solve the problem in your normal colourful way. Thanks for the nurse tip as I am going for a hip replacement down here but my after care will be in Louth.
All visits welcome to see how the Railway is developing.
Les
