As this has come to life again..

The early diesels (here in the UK) had whistles. - I guess it was deemed that was the warning staff were used to hearing?
It would be nice to be able to have the option of a whistle, for use with the likes of an 08 shunter.

We have two heavy diesel soundcards; one British only and the other Universal for US, Australasia, Europe, etc. The British diesel soundcard does indeed include a Class 08 whistle.

Same for airhorns on steam engines the GS-4s some Milwaukee locomotives and the Chinese SY class all had airhorns
