Hi Dave - yes I did consider it for quite a while, but live steam is not the easiest in that scale, so what with with moving house I dowsized everything else, and upsized gauges !

Build what you want. The way you want and how you want. After all, real railroads didn't have a forum to consult with. Just look at the crossing of America by Union Pacific and Central Pacific. They made it up as they went along. The UP museum in Omaha gives railroaders a lot of raw data to draw from.

Welcome to the mad house.

Just a thought but you could keep your 0, build your line with plenty of space perhaps removable buildings and use Live Steam on 32mm as the 16mm guys do. Just depends on what your interests are. In my starting days of Garden Railways people were using Peco 32mm Standard Gauge Track for Narrow Gauge use cos that is all that there was. Well ballasted it is hardly noticeable.
