What I like about 7.25” is that you can sit in it if it is a 2ft prototype of suitable size or with a tender. This beuty being such a beast, very desirable. I believe in the USA they have a different gauge 7.5”?
Having spent some time talking to a 7 1/2 inch owner at a model railway exhibition at The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum, Chattanooga, Tennessee, a few years ago. He was telling me that in the US, half the country runs 7 1/2, the other half runs 7 1/4, that’s why it makes organising a national event next to impossible.
