Although the website recommends 9mm I think these are quite large overall
Just checked, and my plates are 8mm - the 1mm does make a difference.
8mm is the same size as the plates supplied with the "Owain" body kit.
I've used these on two small quarry diesels.

Are those plates in the GWR B style?

A suggestion to Mr Narrowplanet (who I hope doesnt mind that I keep changing my order..)
Is to have a few more pictures of the styles in 16mm, Im sure satisfied customers would allow you to use their piccies.
I used word to try and get a better feel for the lettering but I didnt properly think about matching the out-ling to the general shape of the loco. (doh)

Yes, MRail's plates are GWR B.

I'm working on an update to the site at the moment, I have plenty of customers' photos in all scales to add to it but more are always welcome!

Mmm, just about to order more myself, I was very pleased with the ones I received for Doona and Feena, and also with Steve's feedback during the process - well done!

Got some works plates from Narrow Planet too.

Very pleased, but I think I've pushed things a little too far with the sizing.

I'll have to simplify the details so the paint doesn't clog the lettering.

9mm was fine for me, but i guess it depends on the size of the loco they are going on, they do vary somewhat in our hobby :bigsmile::bigsmile:

Bit of a dumb question but any tips on putting on the loco. I was thinking super glue?
No, not superglue unless you are 110% certain you will get the position right and will never want to remove them. Use a little clear silicone sealant. It takes a while to go off but the plates will come off with a thumbnail if needs be and leave the paint intact.
Cheers

I just got some more plates over the holidays from Steve, usual great quality, and they were custom sized to fit over some other plates I can't get off, and they were EXACTLY as ordered - well done! Photo to follow as they glue is setting - not superglue, you never know!

I always use Superglue. You get about a second to make adjustments before it goes solid.
I too use Superglue - but I've learned from experience to put a dot of it on the loco rather than on the nameplate. I tried it on the nameplate and accidentally dropped it in the wrong place!!!:thumbdown:

Perhaps the number is a tad small but the nameplates look 'right' to me.
