I like the lagging on the pipes is this available, or a home made item...............sorry if that is an obvious question but not gone into live steam yet.......but ever hopeful.

No, I just drilled a hole from the bottom up without taking anything apart. I probably could have made it look neater but it works ok.

The lagging is just string. It's glued at the end and then wound tightly around the pipe before being glued at the other end. It's easier to remove the pipes to do some of them but they can be done in situ. I've done it on mine, not as neat aas on the others but it looks ok.

Excellent photos James. Really like the twins - Konrad especially.
I notice in your whistle fitting pics that your water top-up valve sits on top of the gauge-glass, does this help with getting better water level indication do you think? With no g.g blowdown mine seems a bit hit and miss.
I see you don't bother with the pressure gauge- they are a bit suspect as well.

The water level is definitely clearer with the filler valve sited on top of it, you can quite clearly see it rising as the water is pumped in.

I snapped the pipe to the pressure gauge whilst bending it out of the way and haven't got round to repairing it yet. I can tell how much steam there is by the sound of the whistle so I don't really need it. I will fix it one day though.

Where did you get the 2nd oscillating cylinder? Is it available as a spare part?

In regard to the pressure gauge: On my Regners the gauges always worked properly without any problems...

Hi Klaus, the modified regners aren't mine but I know the guy that built them. I don't think the cylinders are available as spare parts, I think he possibly got it directly from Mr Regner.
