Minor Forum problem

Is anyone else having a problem this morning?

Everytime I come back to (re-open) the forum Fezzwig's post of 9.30 on the daily comes up as unread. I've read it and told the Forum to 'mark it as read' and still it's there next time.

I get that sometimes and think "I'm sure I read that one!" must be the two-way communication thing? I love Info Technology - just as long as somebody else sorts it out!

It isn't, and it's the ONLY thread showing on open as 'unread' this morning.

Until I cleared it out and clicked new posts again and then there's a whole pile.

I don't get it????????

I don't know if this will help? Have you tried clearing Browser History?
I had a problem a couple of weeks ago with online banking - telling me it had the wrong certificate signature (blah, blah, blah!). It threw me out and Firefox.

I eventually started an online conversation with my bank and after a lot of one-finger typing, the other person in Bombay (?) suggested clearing my history.

I eventually discovered how to do it (I have forgotten how to by now!) but it worked then!

It's just a suggestion.

The problem has now changed slightly in that I have marked the offending thread as 'ignore' which it does, but when I open there are no unread posts 'til I click the 'new posts' button. Cookies or history I do suspect, though I haven't tried signing out yet, which I would - if I could remember my password.

I'm up the creek without a paddle when it comes to passwords - I let Firefox remember them. There is a way of finding out or you could ask for a new password and then alter it somewhere near your old one - but, then again, you'd have to know your old one to get somewhere near it!

I think the boss and mods have a backup for things like this, ask them first.

Logging out and back in didn't do it, Delete history next, but not today I haven't any more time to mess, and tomorrow isn't looking hopeful from here!

And this morning it all seems to have put itself right, unless the 'HoG' has been playing overnight!
